CPT Q2035, Q2036, Q2037, Q2038 and Q2039



Effective January 1st 2011 CMS no longer use CPT 90658 for reimbursement, CMS classified into five different HCPCS (Q2035, Q2036, Q2037, Q2038 and Q2039) HCPCS to distinguish between the brand names of the influenza vaccines for federal government tracking purpose.

Following are the HCPCS code details

G0008 – Admin code still be used for all the above HCPCS codes especially for Medicare patients

Q2035 – Alfuria Vaccine

Influenza virus vaccine, split virus, when administered to individuals 3 years of age and older, for intramuscular use –Afluria

Q2036 Flulaval Vaccine

Influenza virus vaccine, split virus, when administered to individuals 3 years of age and older, for intramuscular use - Flulaval

Q2037 Fluvirin Vaccine

Influenza virus vaccine, split virus, when administered to individuals 3 years of age and older, for intramuscular use -Fluvirin

Q2038 Fluzone Vaccine

Influenza virus vaccine, split virus, when administered to individuals 3 years of age and older, for intramuscular use - Fluzone

Q2039 Not Otherwise Specified Vaccine

Influenza virus vaccine, split virus, when administered to individuals 3 years of age and older, for intramuscular use -Not Otherwise Specified.

Rejection Procedure note qualifier is missing

  Need to check the Charges tab and double click on the Procedure Code line to open up the Charge Entry window. There is a Notes section on the right hand side. If there is a note typed, we need to select the type.   Need to select field and select the appropriate type of note you are sending.   Save the changes made   Check all the procedure if submitted many procedure.   Save the visit again and submit the claim.
